School is out.
The excitement of summer break lasted approximately... three days.
Now you're hearing:
"I'm bored."
"There's nothing to do."
"Can I have more screen time?"
Sound familiar?
As parents, we want summer to be fun. We want our kids to relax, enjoy a break from school, and make great memories. But we also know that without some structure, summer can quickly turn into long days of screens, boredom, and kids bouncing off the walls.
The good news? Summer doesn't have to be all-or-nothing.
A few hours of purposeful activity each week can make a huge difference in your child's confidence, fitness, and overall happiness.
That's why we're excited to offer several youth programs this summer at Sycamore CrossFit.
Why Staying Active Matters During Summer
Summer is a great opportunity for kids to recharge—but it's also easy for healthy routines to disappear.
Regular physical activity helps kids:

✅ Develop coordination and athletic skills
✅ Improve focus and mood
✅ Create healthy habits that last beyond summer
✅ Burn off energy in positive ways
Most importantly, movement should be fun.
When kids enjoy being active, they're more likely to stay active for life.
For Kids Who Love to Move: Summer Fitness Camp
If your child enjoys games, obstacle courses, climbing, jumping, and staying active, our Summer Kids Fitness Camp is a perfect fit.
Led by Coach Sue, this program focuses on:
- Coordination
- Balance
- Strength
- Confidence
- Foundational movement skills
Every session is designed to feel more like play than exercise while helping kids develop important physical skills.
With class sizes limited to just 8 children, every participant receives individualized attention and coaching.

For Young Athletes: Youth Summer Strength & Conditioning
Does your child play sports?
Or simply want to become stronger, faster, and more confident?
Our Youth Summer Strength & Conditioning program is designed specifically for athletes ages 8–13.
Led by Coach Jill and Coach Carl, participants will work on:
- Strength development
- Speed and agility
- Coordination and balance
- Conditioning
- Athletic confidence
This isn't about exhausting kids or pushing them too hard.
It's about teaching proper movement, building confidence, and helping young athletes develop a strong foundation for whatever sports or activities they enjoy.
Program Schedule
Monday – 10:30 AM
Wednesday – 10:30 AM
Friday – 10:30 AM
Program Dates
June 8 – July 31, 2026
Families can choose either:
- 2 days per week
- 3 days per week
For Teen Girls: Summer Weightlifting
Strength training can be one of the most empowering things a young athlete learns.
Our Girls Summer Weightlifting program, led by Coach Michelle, helps girls build confidence while learning proper Olympic weightlifting techniques in a supportive environment.
Athletes will learn:
- Snatch technique
- Clean and jerk progressions
- Squatting mechanics
- Pulling strength
- Barbell confidence
Whether your athlete participates in sports or simply wants to become stronger, this program provides valuable coaching and skill development.
Schedule
Thursdays at 8:00 AM
Recommended ages: 12–18
Need Flexibility This Summer?
We get it.
Between vacations, camps, family events, and sports schedules, committing to a full program isn't always realistic.
That's why we offer flexible Kids & Teens Punch Cards that can be used for:
- Youth Summer Strength & Conditioning
- Girls Summer Weightlifting
It's a great option for families who need a little more flexibility while still keeping their kids active throughout the summer.
More Than Just Exercise
